Missions Ministry

The Christian Missions Ministry is following Christ’s call: sharing the Gospel with the lost world through God’s wisdom and strength.  We are to proclaim Christ as the only way to abundant eternal life.  Jesus made it clear that Christians are to reach out,”Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holly Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  (Matthew 28:19-20)

The Lord commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” ( Acts 13:47)

The Christian Missions Ministry should not be limited to Overseas ministry.  Believers should faithfully support those who go to the unreached, all Christians have the mission to share Christ at home with family, friends, coworkers, and the community.

Purpose:

Every Christian is called to missions in their own lives.  Jesus charges all of us to reach others with His message.  The Missions Ministry will keep in communication with local and overseas missions supported by Calvary Community Church. We review annually the effectiveness of each mission group we support.  We support, promote, communicate, and pray for all the missionaries that we support.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep the congregation informed of our mission activities, projects, and the need for missionaries.
  • Support and evaluate our Missions ministries.
  • Conduct a Mission Emphasis Week each year in November.
  • Encourage members to commit to an annual Faith Promise for financially supporting mission programs.
  • Partner with other churches on special mission events.
